Mission

Marieta draws from her experience to identify and treat the root cause of your complaint, rather than just focusing on the symptoms.

Marieta's mission is to empower you by improving your movement capabilities through participating in active rehab to get you back to doing what you love. She believes that, if you take action in your own hands, you will not only recover, but you can change your movement pattern to prevent injuries.

Her approach is different from the conventional Massage Therapy method. Clients usually arrive in athletic clothing to allow for massage therapy, combined with movement on-and-off the table in order to work towards optimum performance

Approach

•  Health History | A discussion to understand the mechanism of injury or disfunction, your activities of daily living, medical history and your goals from the massage therapy session.

•  Assessment |  A thorough assessment of your joint mobility, strengths and weakness of your muscular system, movement patterns and neurological involvement to find the underlying cause of your discomfort.

•  Soft Tissue Release | Massage Therapy incorporating numerous techniques, including deep tissue massage, myofascial release, joint mobilization, ART, cupping and  fascial stretching.

•  Exercises | Integrating movement education to improve long-term movement patterns and train the brain through the newly acquired capabilities. Training the body to adapt to the newly acquired range of motion and strength gains conditions your body for further loading.

What Athletes Are Saying

Untitled design

As a professional hockey player, training is an essential part of my summer schedule. Taking care of my body pre-and post-workouts/skates is just as important. Marieta’s skills ensure that my body is ready to perform at an elite level all the time. Whether it was a pre-workout fascial stretch or a post-workout recovery massage / acupuncture session, my body always felt great. Her background as an athlete helps her understand the grind on your body as you prepare for an upcoming season. I look forward to working with Marieta again as I continue to strive to be the best athlete I can be.

Marieta fixed me and I'm climbing again! I was suffering from a very internal lower back pain for months and I felt nobody could figure out what was wrong with me. Finally I went to see Marieta and she immediately understood how to treat this incredibly stubborn pain. After my first session I felt a huge relief from pain. The exercises she gave me had helped tremendously over the next few days. Then I saw another huge improvement after our second session. I can honestly say I'm healing now and feeling almost back to normal. Marieta really knows her stuff. I don't use words like miracle lightly, but that's exactly what I'd use to describe her ability to heal. Now I can put my climbing shoes back on!
